Founded in 1973 by Peter Simon the original focus of Monsoon was always on sourcing and selling clothes with an ethnic origin from faraway places. This included for example unusual women's dresses from Afghanistan and countries en route. The first Monsoon womens clothing shop was opened in May 1973 at Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge, London. Over the years, Munsoon has expanded rapidly from its London base and today there are over 400 Monsoon and Accessorize (their sister brand) womenswear stores in the United Kingdom. Worldwide they've got over 600 shops for fashionable women.

They've alway stayed true to their originins and Monsoon's clothing ranges include fashionable women's tops, dresses, coats, jackets, tunics, caftans, camisoles, trousers and knitwear. In addition to their clothes, Monson also sell funky beachwear, women's shoes, boots, bags and accessories. In addition they also sell special occassion womenswear, including Monsoon bridal and bridesmaid dresses. Their trendy accessories include everything from bags, ladies purses, belts, gloves and scarves to fine womens fragrances, hats, caps, hosiery, sunglasses, umbrellas and jewellery.

Any clothes which are not of satisfactory quality, not as described or simply not wanted by may be returned for a full refund within 28 days of receipt (or 14 days on sale clothing). Returns are free and can be done by post or by returning the items to one of their high street stores.
